Junior Golf

The junior section and the development of our junior golfers is an important part of the club. The club has a history of producing successful juniors, including several who have gone on to represent Surrey in amateur events.

We are also proud of the fact that many of our existing adult members started here as juniors.

We offer our junior members all the benefits enjoyed by our adult members including:

• Organised competitions, including the Coombe Wood Junior Open, which is part of the Surrey Junior Order of Merit. Juniors can also take part in adult competitions once their handicap reaches 18 (in the case of junior boys) and 24 (in the case of junior girls).
• Group lessons with a PGA professional, which are arranged on several weekends during the year and in school holidays and half terms
• Communication about upcoming events and activities
• Club matches against juniors from other clubs
• Social events where juniors get the opportunity to meet and mix

The culture of the club is to make juniors feel comfortable using the golf course just like any other members. We use the intelligentgolf online system and app to book tee times and juniors can book tee times in advance as follows:

Monday to Friday – any time

Saturday and Sunday and Bank Holidays – from 2pm* (1pm in the winter months)

*unless playing in a club competition in which case tee times will be allocated by the pro shop

Please note that juniors under the age of 12 can only play on the course when accompanied by an adult.
